Convenience Stores Get Mixed Results in 1st Half

Japan has four major convenience stores and they are getting mixed results in operating profits.

Seven-Eleven, which is Japan's largest convenience store chain – the group saw a 3% drop in operating profit…sales were down 1.7%.

Circle K Sunkus Co had an 18% drop in group profit.

FamilyMart had a rise in operating profit of 3% – more fresh food and profitable fast-food products.

Lawson's group operating profits climbed 5% on strategiesfamilymart.jpg targeting women.

Seven-Eleven, owned by Seven & i expects profi forecasts for the year to go unchanged. UP.
