Construction Industry in Japan Tops Entertainment Expenses
In 2003 alone, Japan spent almost 3.5 trillion yen ($34 Billion) on entertainment expenses.
The top three spenders were:
3. Wholesale industry including trading – abt $5 billion.
2. Service industry - abt $5.3 billion
and the
1. Construction industry - abt $6 billion.
Gee, and now we wonder how some construction companies get their contracts or how any major company in Japan gets a major contract for that matter.
Still ‘wining and dining’ expenses are almost half of the $60 billion that was spent in Japan’s peak year of 1992.
Which direction are these expenses likely to go as the economy improves?
When there’s a lot of money to be made there is always room for corruption, and Japan is not a company of squeaky clean dealings.
