Cell Phone GPS Child-tracking Service

KDDI Corp said it will introduce a service that will allow phone subscribers a way to track/locate their children, IF the kid doesn't lose their cell phone.

The GPS system will send out minute-by-minute data to a another cell phone or PC.

More and more parents are buying cell phones for their kids – improving family communication and all that nonsense. Now the parents can add crime protection/prevention to the list.

The new phones will have a special danger buzzer that triggers the tracking signal when pressed or when the handset is shut off.

Now that the bad guys know this…won't they NOT let the kids push the buttons or turn off their phones?

How about a way for the danger signal to go off that only kids and parents know about?  How about parents keeping track of their kids the old fashion way?

Don't talk to strangers. Hang out in groups…and so on.

what do you think?
