Burger King Heading Back to Japan

Burger King will try to reestablish itself in Japan next summer after a five-year hiatus.

Lotte Co. and Revamp Corp. have formed a joint venture to run the franchises under an agreement with Burger King Corp.

The goal is to have 100 whopper outlets within five years.

Burger King, partnered with Japan Tobacco Inc., from 1996-2001 lost out in a price war to McDonald's Japan.

Lotte and Revamp are behing Krispy Kreme's entry into Japan as well.

Now Japanese can get fat on breakfast AND lunch.
