Boston Red Sox to Play Los Angeles Angels in Season Opener in Tokyo

The Japanese are showing their American counterparts that they know how to play baseball, too.

Perhaps not as a whole, but individual standouts from Japan now in MLB are playing with the big boys – Ichiro Suzuki, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Hideki Matsui to name a few.

Next year the Boston Red Sox want to open up their season in Japan against the Los Angeles Angels, Oakland A's or Seattle Mariners….and, yeah, sure, have Daisuke Matsuzaka pitch all three games in the series. Dice K could probably do it, too.

Tokyo Dome will be the location.red.sox.japan.jpg

Seattle is last choice for an opponent so that Daisuke gets all the attention without sharing it with Ichiro.

Oakland is an option because like Los Angeles, it is on

the west coast. After finishing in Tokyo, the two teams are expected to play another series on the West Coast.

Japan supplies good ball players…make that very good athletes who are also baseball players. It would be good for MLB to play a regular season in Japan.

What do you think?
