Book Insulting Princess Masako to be Printed in Japan
Princess Masako – Prisoner of the Chrysanthemum, written by Ben Hills of Australia was blasted by Tokyo for containing many factual errors and insulting the royal family.
Hill accused Japan of censoring his work.
The foreign ministry sought an apology and "appropriate steps."
Tokyo-based publisher Daisan-Shokan sees an opportunity to make some money.
The publisher will release a translation of the book early next month, with some editorial changes to factual errors (dates).![]()
Masako is now 43-years old. The Harvard-educated diplomat has been out of the public eye because of a stress-related
mental illness – she feels bad because everyone wanted her to have a baby boy.
She and Prince Naruhito have one daughter who cannot ascend to the throne because of the current law.
Plans for revising the law were scrapped when Naruhito's sister had a baby boy last year. He will be the new Emperor.
So much for helping to modernize Japan's royal household.
Do you think Japan should be permitted to have an Empress?
