Bank of Japan to Raise Employee Bonuses
When you ask a Japanese how much money they make they won’t tell you. It’s the same everywhere.
But, if they did tell you, you would need to know two figures. One is their monthly income. The other is the amount of their summer and year end bonuses.
The bonuses can be 1-5 times the amount of one month’s salary.![]()
The Bank of Japan said it will give its employees a raise in their bonuses this fiscal year of 4.2% over last year.
This is significant because it is the first bonus increase in 16 years.
This will give BOJ’s an annual increas in salary of about 1%.
Many major Japanese banks and lenders and have raised their bonuses since 2004 and the BOJ seems to be just following suit.
Still…the Japanese economy seems to be chugging along, even picking up steam.
And that’s good news.
What do you think?
