Bad Food – Add McDonald’s Japan to the List

China has food problems…the United States has food problems….even super detail oriented Japan has food problems…well, one of the American companies operating in Japan does.

Maybe that's where things break down.

Anyway…-McDonald's Co. (Japan) Ltd. and Meiji Dairies Corp are recalling 146 220 milliliter bottles of Meiji's milk because they may have germs.

The germs pose no health hazard…they are just banned under the Food Sanitation Law…which begs the question, what kind of germs are good?mcdonalds.japan.milk.jpg

The problem was the rubber packing used to secure a valve at a Meiji unit's milk plant was cracked.

As a precaution….the milk was

recalled.

A breakdown in the maintenance sked for the packing to be replaced was also discovered in the process.

My concern is that if even Japan cannot get it right, who else is getting it wrong and how much so?
