Baby Mammoth Headed to Japan

A reindeer herder in Siberia stumbled upon a 130cm (4'3") 50kg (110lb) frozen, as in dead for a long time and frozen, baby mammoth.

The body of the baby mammoth is nearly complete and is thought to be one of the best preserved specimens ever discovered.

The little fellow was thought to be 1 year old, when he was instantly preserved some 10,000 years ago.

Japan's Jikei University School of Medicine will be the lucky institute to get to do research on and analysis of the mammothsicle.baby.mammoth.jpg

Advanced CT (computed tomography) scanners will be used to get pictures of its internal organs.

Hollywood producers are lined up to get blood samples

in hopes of creating story lines that can be turned into blockbusters with sequels and prequels, tooo.

It looks like a baby elephant to me.

But then, what do I know?

It is definitely cold enough in Siberia to freeze things. I spent part of a winter there once. It's so cold that when people tell jokes in November, nobody laughs until March…when they start thawing out.
