Anime Fans Gather for Cosplay Fest

Anime – cosplay – Japanese butchering at its best, but still a lot of fun.

Nagoya is hosting the 5th annual Cosplay Summit, all part of Tokyo's efforts to raise Japan's profiile and promote "Japan is Cool" image.

I remember when Japan made the push to be more international. Now that the country is, Japan doesn't know how to handle the foreigners roaming the country.

In Japanese cosplay, fans dress as characters from Japanese anime. 

Japan's Foreign Minister is an avid manga fan, known for reading comics in his official car between appointments. The Foreign Ministry is also a sponsor of the contest.
