An Old Folks Home for Dogs, or is it an Old Dog’s Home
You can't teach an old dog new tricks but you can care for them in their old age.
Japan opened up the first aged care home for dogs.
Not only do Japanese live longer, but Rufus the dog is keeping up.
The Saradi corporation will set up shop and accomodate up to 20 pooches at its facility. A veterinary surgeon will be on staff at the resort area of Nasu, north of Tokyo.
The dogs will be permitted to exercise, eat natural foods and
play gate ball to their heart's content.
Some old codgers in Japan apparently don't know what to do when Spinky gets old, barks at night and starts moaning.
For $970 a month, they can turn the leash over to the keepers of the old dogs…the four legged-kind.
Japan is expected to have 40% of its population be over 65 by 2055.
The 13 million dogs in Japan…once lived to be 5-years old just 25 years ago but now live to be, on average, 15-years old.
Would you turn care of your old dog over to someone else?
