An Internet Addict Speaks Out

I got a comment from a self-professed Internet addict to my post

2 Million Teens Addicted to the Internet

I thought it worthwhile to bring to a post in hopes of creating a discussion.

Hopefully, Kiyoshi and his friends will weigh in.

Look guys I'm not going to reveal my age but what you say about us having
nothing else to do is right! We have moved out to a new place temporary for
work and there isn't anyone I know out here. I'm not a big socializer and
on the internet i have lots of friends i can talk to. Don't blame us and
don't take it away.

We have lives on here and I'm on here because there isn't anything else for
me. Even at home though with my friends I'm on the internet all the time.
Not because I'm anti-social. Because it's fun. There is lots of stuff to do
and talk about. Stop giving us small time limits, stop yelling at us
calling us addicts. We have souls and fealings. What right do you have to
call us addicts when there are so many other things that you guys do like
drugs. We don't get on you about it.

So lay off this stuff. Let your kids be happy and do what they want.
Encourage them to do well in school and let them have fun. My parents call
me and addict and yell at me about school. It's not easy on us! We hate you
guys labeling us just because were different. We might change we might not.
But for god sakes, let us be us.

What do you think? Should we leave them alone?

BTW, Kiyoshi…good job with the English writing.
