8 Leading Carbon Dioxide Emitting Nations

Japan is trying to meet the Kyoto Protocol standards it set for itself. On some fronts they are doing well and on others they aren't.

Of seven leading nations in carbon dioxide emissions, Japan is number 7.

8. USA emits 20 tons of CO2 per person

7. Australia emits 17.3 tons

6. Canada emits 16.3 tons

5. Russia emits 10.7 tons

4. Germany is at 10.3 tons

3. U.K. is 9.4 tons

2. Japan is 9.4 tons

1. France is best at 6.5 tons….thanks to 80% or better dependence on nuclear power, no doubt.

America, Australia and Canada have a lot of work to do, no?

Perhaps those countries can learn some lessons from Japan and Co.

What do you think?
