7-7-07 Tanabata and the Best Wedding Day Ever

There is a festival in Japan, tanabata.

The lovers, Kengyu and Shokujo, were separated long ago by the Milky Way.

Once a year, if the weather is clear in the evening of 7-7 the two lovers get to meet. Couples fall in love, romance happens, proposals fly and cupid does his thing.

This year, chance are especially good. It will be 7-7-07.

Stars, Eva Longoria of Desperate Houswives and Tony Parker of the NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs (maybe) think it will be a great day.

So do 38,000 couples (more than three times the usual) registered at The Knot.

I have done more than 900 weddings in Japan…and once did 10 weddings in one day.tanabata.jpg

My bet, is that this year, 7-7-07, the wedding halls in Japan will be overflowing.

But nothing like what will happen next year in China – 8-8-08. After all, 8 is the lucky number there.

Are you superstitious?
