6 Things Japan’s PM Fukuda Hopes to Accomplish in China Next Week

Boy, was I wrong.

I didn't think there was any way for the two countries, Japan and China, to get all their eggs in one basket in time for PM Fukuda to visit China before the end of the year.

Looks like he is going for about 4 days, from Dec. 27th-30th.

There are goals to be accomplished, of course.

1. Strengthen economic cooperation

2. Strengthen cooperation in energy

3. Strengthen cooperation in the environmental fields

4. Resolve difference on the issue of gas reserves in the East China Sea

5. Agree on promoting exchanges at youth and popular levels.

6. Discuss global warming (kind of like talking about UFOs) issues

Since Koizumi stepped down, his successor Abe and now Fukuda have done much to smooth relations, just be staying away from the Yasukuni Shrine.

What do you think Japan and China need to cooperate on most?
