6 Key Points of Cooperation Between China and Japan

Japan and China need to get along…they want to get along.

The respective foreign ministers of each country are meeting in Manila to discuss hotpoints.

There are six of them.

1. The two countries want China to improve product quality and safety, particularly food products.

2. China wants Japan's media coverage to back off from 'excessive coverage'.

3. China and Japan want to cooperate on a plan to denuclearize North Korea.

4. Rights to gas exploration in the East China Sea need to

be determined.

5. China needs to get on board in the post-Kyoto Protocol framework.

6. Japan needs to support the 'one-China' policy and not encourage Taiwan's bid to be a U.N. member.
