Oji Paper Co., falsified the percentage of recycled paper used in many of its paper products. Oji is Japan's largest papermaker. At least four other paper companies in Japan have now admitted to lying about the percentage of used paper in products labelled as made from recycled paper.
In early 2007, Takafumi Horie, the head of leading internet company, Livedoor, was indicted on charges of falsifying profits and an additional charge of creating a non-existent market in Livedoor's shares.
