5 Ways Ford Looks to Mazda for Help

Mazda Motor Corp is 33% owned by Ford and the only bright spot for the U.S. automaker.

In 2006 Mazda sold 1.1 million cars AND turned a profit of about $1 billion.

The company hopes to increase that amount to $1.6 billion by selling 1.6 million cars in 2010.

Ford is praying for the same.

1. Ford needs the cash.mazda.ford.jpg

For its part, Mazda plans to:

2. cutting costs

3. increasing research investment

4. strengthening its model lineup

5. take more control of its U.S. dealer network.

Since when did Japanese carmakers need to show American carmakers how to do business right?

Shame on Ford, GM and Chrysler.

Go Japanese cars!
