#20 The Japan-related Web. Part 1: What it could be

Submitted by Bill Belew on Thursday, 24 January 2008No Comment

We have examined assisting others.

Let's talk about the next form of collaboration:

promoting others.

When I think about promoting others, KenYN's recent [Japan Blog of the Year contest] comes to mind.

Ken took nominations for Japan-related blogs and then posted 4-5 blogs in different categories so people could vote for their favorite in each category.

Ken received extra traffic but each of the blogs were exposed to new readers too, they were all promoted (he also did a write up about each one and gave

suggestions).nipponster.gif

Promoting in this way gives readers new content, gives the promoted site new readers, and (as we will look more at later) makes the promoter golden.

What other examples of promoting others can you think of?

What are some good ways to promote others?
