$1.8 million Grab Bag

Takashimaya Department store is planning to offer a diamond-encrusted "fukubukuro," or grab bag.

The bag will be filled with unknown contents and the price is Y200 million ($1.8 million).

It will be sold at its Nihonbashi flagship store on Jan. 2-3.

Takashimaya hopes the offering, limited to just one, will give some pizzazz to the New Year's sales season.

At 9 x 14cm, (3.4" x 5.5") the platinum silver bag has 1,867 diamonds.

Including the strap the diamond count rises to 2,182.
