$15 Billion for a Cigarette

The world's third largest tobacco company, Japan Tobacco, bought Britain's Gallerher Group for $15 billion.

Japan tobacco is the overseas distributor for Winston, Camel and Salem cigarettes.

With Japan's smoking rates decling, this acquisition will allow Japan tobacco to take their coffin nails outside of Japan and into Western Europe.

JT's CEO says the move will "strengthen JT's market position and growth opportunities."

It will also do its part to increase lung cancer, raise insurance rates, and cause early death and heartache.

Is there anything that can be done about big tobacco except for education…education…education?
