10 Million of Nintendo’s Pokemon Characters Traded Online

The Nintendo Wii is not the only product that is making money.

According to an online report from Japanese consumer magazine Famitsu, over 10 million Pokemon characters have been traded online by users of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl in both Japan and North America and in trades between the two regions.

More than 500,000 Pokemon have been traded in Japan in Japan since last September. The series was released in the US in April.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are the fastest selling titles ever for the core

pokemon.diamond.jpg role-playing game. Two million copies were made available in Japan. 500,000 pre-orders were placed in the US and more than 1 million copies were sold in five days.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl allows for online chat, trading and battles.

Meanwhile, Sony is still waiting to make money on the PS3.
