UAW - Chrysler Strike - Toyota, Honda, Nissan Keep Rolling Out Cars
The United Auto Workers (UAW) is threatening to strike against Chrysler.
Chrysler is doing its darndest to get back to profitability by 2008.
Sales are down 3% over last year.
Chrysler is on its way to:
1. cutting 11,000 production jobs
2. slashing 2,000 white-collar positions
3. idling more than the 5 U.S. plants that have already been shut down for 1-2 weeks because of low demand
At factories and union halls, workers are already filling out paperwork for strike pay and have signed up for picket duty.
And in the meantime…Toyota Expects to Hit 2007 Global Sales Target.
Honda will keep rolling them out.
Nissan will introduce its Altima, Rogue and Murano in South Korea.
And, we wonder why American automakers are having so much trouble getting back to profitability.
I will NEVER buy another American car.
I hope the UAW stays on strike till a new generation of autoworkers can be raised up.
And, I hope America's Big Three has learned their lesson on how to treat workers fairly so this nonsense won't happen again.
What do you think of the UAW?
