Type A - Car Company - Toyota Motor Corp.
Business Week recently published a special edition competition issue. In one section there was a list of Type A organizations.
Boeing, Latter-Day Saints, Goldman Sachs, Intel, Microsoft, Nike, Navy Seals, Nokia and Harvard were nine such organizations.
There was one car company on the list - Toyota Motor Corporation
Toyota will take over the position as world’s biggest auto manufacturer late this year or sometime next year for sure from General Motors.
Okuda Hiroshi, predecessor to current CEO Watanabe Katsuaki, once considered raising prices for Toyota cars to help out struggling GM and Ford. What that would do is make more money for Toyota. I can’t imagine it hurting sales as long as GM or Ford can’t match Toyota’s quality.
Watanabe has since announced plans to raise production of Toyota cars by 10% to abt 9 million vehicles this year, tightening the screws on the Little Three.
While increasing production, Watanabe also plans to decrease costs by $10 billion in the next five years.
GM, Ford and Chrysler have type-A Toyota eating them alive and there is no let-up in sight.
At least we will have good quality and economical cars to drive when Toyota wins out.

This is to inform you that I have been cheated by the local dealer of Toyota in Oman (Saud Bahwan Group),in selling me a(Toyota Avalon) chassas No.4T1BK36B77U188737 engine No. 6125279 with so many manufacture and handling defects, from the first day of delivery I found some of the defects in this car which are the handling, but others are descovered leter I explained to them several times what the defects are and I was told everything will be rectified, so the car was in their workshop for more than four (4) times within less than three months, unfortunatily none was done. honestly I was annoyed and I was forced to raise a case againest them in the court to according to thier behaviour towards me and other customers. till this moment I still have the same defects and the same problems in my car which are as follow:-
1. Noizy outside air sound comes through the windows to the cabin while driving.
2. Bad smell seems to be Carbon Oxide (CO1) which is a poison gas enters inside the car.
3. Pulling to the left side while driving
4. Boot does not close smoothly (I have to smash it very hard, I was informed by them that the adjustment was done but I noticed a gap between the body of the car and the boot).
According to what I have mentioned above I requested them many times to repair the defects or exchange the car for me, but they refuse and sometimes they denie the defects in this car, finally they told me to trade the car which means that I will lose the downpayment and the instalments I have already paid to the finance company as well as cheating another person on it.
My questions to TOYOTA MOTORS CORPORATION are: Do you accept such behaviours to your customers who prefaired your products than others? Do you feel that it is fair to cheat the toyota customers? Don’t you think about new customers who will hear about such problems caused by dealers?
If not please you are kindly requested to solve my problem with your dealer in Oman by exchanging this car with other, one without losing any ammount of many and to compensate me for the period I suffered.
