Should we let America’s three gig automakers, GMC, Ford, and Chrysler Die?

No. But, we should not throw more money at the three either.

If their only hope of surviving is for the federal government, our tax money, to bail them out, then let the chips fall where they will.

Japan’s big three – Toyota, Honda and Nissan are making a do of it.

What’s up with America’s big three? Can’t take the heat? Can’t handle the competition?

Remember when everyone laughed at Japan’s try to get into the auto market? Who’s laughing now?

I reckon the auto unions will dig in their heels, then eventually find themselves in line at unemployment. One way or another, we the taxpayers, are going to have to bail them out.

The problem…greedy car manufacturers, greedier unions = the love of money.

The solution – how about let’s be fair with one another?

Agreed. GM just built a huge plant in Russia. Go ask Moscow for a bail-out. GM owns both Opel and Holden. Either divest and use the cash to prop up US operations or go to Berlin or Sydney for assistance.

Agreed. In the interest of the free market, if they cannot survive, then by Darwinian principles, they must DIE! They must divest of under-performing divisions, tell the oil lobby to screw off and make more efficient cars. They have been making lousy products for years, hoping patriotism will bail them out. Well patriotism is not going to save me money as I drive my Prius past the gas lines. Toyota is saving me money, honey. But wait, can’t GM save its butt by getting more military contracts? It’s working for Boeing.

Why should we help the big car companys. If they would sale the big jet, brown bag there lunch. Stop taking a bonus and cut in pay. They may not be in a big mess. Sell some of there big homes and summer homes. Most people can not even afford the small home they live in. And now there are asking the goverment to bill them out. I say no.
