Domestic auto sales in Japan hit a 35-year low in 2007.

1. High gasoline prices

2. limited income growth

3. shrinking demand

are blamed for the poor sales.

New cars, trucks and bus sales were down 7.6% in 2007.

It's the 4th year in a row sales declined and the worst since 1972.

Toyota introduced 9 new models to stimulate demand but still saw a 6% drop in sales.auto.sales.japan.jpg

This year…more of the same says Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.

When was the last time you bought a new car?
