5 Items on Toyota’s Agenda Regarding the U.S. Economy

Submitted by Bill Belew on Monday, 12 March 2007No Comment

Toyota Motor Corp's prez shared some thoughts regarding Toyota and the U.S. economy.

1. Toyota is not concerned about the company's impact on the U.S. economy and the world's largest auto market…for a while anyway. China is coming.

2. Toyota is ready for increases or decreases in demands for pickup trucks in response to fluctuations cause by the uncertain U.S. housing market. Toyota doesn't build trucks to sit on lots.

3. Toyota can afford $1500 discounts on trucks in the basic work truck competition.

4. Toyota plans to strengthen production operations so that the company need not consider changes in exchange rates.

5. Toyota will build an eighth plant in North America and is already mulling over whether it needs a ninth.toyota.economy.jpg

What is more interesting to me is not what Toyota thinks about the American economy but, why America needs to know what Toyota thinks?

Why does this one car company have such an impact on the U.S.?
