Fujitsu Takes Aim at Indian PC Market
Fujitsu Ltd hopes to be selling PCs to Indians by as early as this fall… whoa…that's now.
With a goal of 5% of the Indian market within three years, Fujitsu thinks the PC maker has what India wants.
Fujitsu will increase the number of its employees as well as follow through on a
couple of local contracts with agents of information technology equipment in Mumbai and Delhi.
Fujitsu supplies a limited number (few thousand) PCs to educational institutions in India but hopes to introduce middle- and high-range notebook computers in hopes of selling 500-600K units in fiscal 2010.
The Indian market sells about 5 million units annually and has grown 25% from 2005 to 2006.
Notebook PCs are forecast to surge fourfold in the next three years to 4 million by 2010.
And…Fujitsu wants to have a piece of that big pie.
Have you ever used a Fujitsu PC?
