Bhai Dooj 2009 – Bhaubeej
Bhai Dooj falls on the last day of five-day-long festival, Diwali and commemorates the festival of brothers and sisters amongst Hindus across the world – and is being celebrated on the 19th October.

It is celebrated on the second day of the bright fortnight or Shukla Paksha of the month of Kartik (October-November) in the Hindu lunar calendar.
The main essence of Bhai Dooj is the strengthening of the bonds of sacred love common between brothers and sisters. It is also known as Bhaubeej or Bhav Bij (Maharashtra), Bhai Tika (Nepal), Bhai-phota or Bhai phonta.( Bengal) or Bhathru Dwithiya or Bhatri Ditya.
