Miss India Pooja Chopra won the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Project

The Miss World 2009 pageant took place last night at Johannesburg, South Africa with Miss Gibraltar Kaiane Aldorino being crowned as the new Miss World and it also saw a new winner – which is what the Miss World pagenat stands for.

India’s Pooja Chopra won the Miss World 2009 Beauty with a Purpose title and will go on to make sure that her project on the emancipation of the girl child in India will change the lives of the fairer sex in her country.

Miss India was an example of courage making it to the Miss World stage despite an injured leg.

On accepting the award, she said that she was speechless and thanked Julianne Molly for giving her this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of girls.
