Japan has a Robot that can cook.

Its name is Motoman.

Motoman put on a show at at the International Next Generation Robot Fair in Osaka.

Motoman is manufactured by Yaskawa Electric Co.

In this pic Motoman is making “okonomiyaki” a kind of Japanese pancake. Yum!

But, can he do dishes, too!?

I think I got dizzy watching the I MIEV (Mistubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle) spin around at the 51st Annual San Francisco International Auto Show.

Very sorry about the bad picture (flash in the middle). I don’t even qualify as a rookie photographer. It’s the first time since I have been married that my wife let me out of the house with a camera, alone.

Big Cars Doing the Hybrid Dance at the 51st San Francisco International Auto Show

There were some big cars doing the Hybrid Dance when I was in San Francisco at the Auto Show, last week. Seems like if a car maker can put the words Hybrid on the side of the body, they think they can get drivers to dance with them. It doesn’t always work that way for sure. Besides, most people are already on the floor with Toyota.

3.2 Million Light Bulbs Lit with Solar Power - Beautiful!

It must be Christmas. The lights are up, on, shining brightly.

It must be a green Christmas when 3.2 million light bulbs are being lit with power generated by the big light in the sky - solar power.

A tunnel in Japan at the Toki no Sumba resort in Shizuoka prefecture is lit up with lights from solar power.

Here that Japan! There is no need to always use electric power. And, wasn’t it Japan that set the goals at Kyoto?

Nissan Murano - Why Sales are Up when Nissan Overall is Down

Nissan North America announced that its November sales have dropped 42.2% in the United States.

All the cars are selling less except the Nissan Murano which posted a sales increase.

Sales of the Murano were up 4.7% to 4,162 vehicles.

Nissan is # 3 of Japan’s big three.

Nissan is offering 0% financing on 3-year loans for its most popular 2008 and 2009 models.

Nissan sold 46,605 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in November. Last year it sold 80,683 in November.

Total sales of Nissan brand vehicles were down 44.4%.

Sales of the Altima, Nissan’s highest volume vehicle, declined 45.3% to 10,828 units.

So, why are sales up? Because people are buying more.

Okay…another joke… why is a giraffe’s neck so long?

Answer - because his head is so far away from its body.

Panasonic Releases Trimless LED

Panasonic Electric Works Co Ltd released the “Everleds Trimless Universal Downlight,” a trimless LED lighting device for short distance lighting, in Japan Dec 1, 2008. It features a a trimless simple design and improves the appearance of showcased items with its less obtrusive presence as a fixture. It is for use in showcases at commercial facilities, ornament shelves in houses and so forth.It can be rotated at 360° horizontally and tilted 24°. It has a power consumption of 2.3W and lasts 40,000 hours (lumen maintenance factor: 70%). For the high power type, the luminous flux of the white-color model is 52lm, while that of the incandescent-color model is 42lm. The aperture size is 45mm.The suggested price is US$156. Surely this LED technology is going to break the entire world due to it’s new approach towards the lighting field. Everyone will like this thing and it will rock the entire world a lot.

Japanese Need Manner Poster to Know Where to Get Drunk

Tis the season to get drunk as a skunk in Japan. Year end parties, Christmas drunk fests, New Year’s parties, and, gosh, let’s forget about the workday daily drunken ordeal.

Tokyo Metro has decided to put posters up to let the Japanese know where they should get soused - at home.

Housewives in Japan can be expected to fight back everywhere. They had hoped their hopeless husbands could pass out on trains and sleep it off before they came home.

Alto Lapin by Suzuki

World’s one of the best automobile manufacturers Suzuki have released Alto Lapin mini vehicle on November 26th. This vehicle inherits the rounded body from it’s previous one. It is also featuring a more spacious interior realized by using a new platform developed for the “Wagon R.” Here I will list out some of the features of Alto Lapin,

Dimensions : 3,395 (L) x 1,475 (W) x 1,510mm (H)

Wheelbase : 2,400mm

Maximum Output : 40kW (54PS)

Maximum Torque : 63 N·m

Fuel Consumption : 24.5km/L

The height is lower than the Wagon R by 150mm. The wheelbase was extended by 40mm from the preceding model by adopting the new platform. The length of the interior was extended by 170mm to 1,870mm, while the distance between the front and rear seat passengers was increased by 75mm to 840mm.

Surely this one will make a new revolution in the automobile field, since this vehicle is mainly targeting the women from teens to thirties. So try this out too…

Japan Post Goes Green with Electric Cars That Are Red

Japan Post is going seriously green.

Starting today (Dec 1), Japan Post will deploy 24,000 electric vehicles made by Mitsubishi motors.

The cars will be used for mail pickup nationwide.

Now, if they can just get the stamp lickers to be a more eco-friendly…you know, those little round sponge thingees in a mini-tub.
