End of Korean War in Sight – Good News for Japan

U.S. President George Bush told his South Korean counterpart that an end to the Korean War could be declared if the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) will end its nuclear weapons program.

This is good news for Japan but will not resolve the differences between the two countries…but it will allow the Japanese to be more at ease IF…(BIG IF) the DPRK keeps its word about ending nuclear weapons aspirations.

The Korean Peninsula has remained in a state of war since the Korean War ended in a truce.bush.roh.jpg There is no formal peace treaty.

Meanwhile, the DPRK has invited the U.S., China and Russia to send their nuclear experts to survey its facilities.

End of the Korean War in sight?

What do you think?
