Yahoo! Japan Adds Suicide (自殺) Prevention Message to Searches Involving Suicide

If someone in Japan does a suicide-related search on Yahoo! Japan, the search engine will display a list of counseling services at the top of search results.

Keywords and phrases – shinitai (死にたい) , jisastsu (自殺)- and so on will trigger Yahoo! which will in return provide links to consultation centers.

The measure started this month.

I wonder, will Yahoo! do the same for booze searches, sex searches and so on.

It seems like a good idea to me, but how will Yahoo! Japan decide how much they should or should not get involved in searches?
