Toyota Motor Corp. will surpass General Motors Corp in production for 2007.

GM said they made 9.284 million cars.

Toyota said it made 9.51 million.

The real prize, of course, will be which car maker sold the most.

Toyota beat Ford in US domestic sales for the first time in 75 years.

GM says they lead Toyota in 13 of the 15th largest markets. One of those markets is Japan where Toyota has a huge lead.

GM has been the top industry sales leader for 76 years.

At the end of three quarters, GM had sold 7.06 million cars worldwide to Toyota's 7.05 million.

GM has the record with 9.55 million cars sold in 1978.

Long drum roll, please?
