Toyota Will Surpass Chevy, Ford to be Best Seller in the US This Year

Toyota Motor Corp.'s will likely become the best-selling automobile brand in the U.S. this year.

It will be the first time the automaker tops the charts in the US.

According to U.S. research firm Autodata Corp., Toyota was the sales leader through November.

Toyota's market share has risen 0.8 percentage point from the first 11 months of this year to 14.2%.

General Motors Corp.'s Chevrolet brand dipped 0.6 point to 14%.

Ford Motor Co.'s Ford brand saw a 1.7 point decrease to 13%.

Last year, Ford ranked first and Chevrolet second.

Fat cars aren't selling well this year. Maybe a lot of people will want one for Christmas and pull the two American car makers to the top.
