Nintendo Top Value Gainer in FY06: Nikkei
Nintendo Co. grew the most in value of any enterprise in Japan in FY06 according to Nikkei Inc.
Nintendo’s enterprise value grew 229% from its value one year earlier.
A senior analyst at Nomura Securities Co. said, “Both wheels of software and hardware have turned (Nintendo’s) creative product capabilities into its biggest strength.” Read – the company is making a killing of the Wii and its handheld….not to mention the software that go with them.
NGK Insulators Ltd., which manufactures equipment used to clean up gas emissions, came in 10th with a 71% rise.![]()
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (8th) and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. (12th), with enterprise value gains of 88% and 71%, respectively are examples of Japanese companies that have benefited from the global economic expansion.
Nippon Sheet Glass Co. which acquired Pilkington Plc,
came in fourth with a 122% gain.
Mergers & Acquisitions, riding the tide of global economic expansion, doing the green thing….none of them could beat Nintendo’s Wii…the game even girls and old folks want to play.
