Nike T-shirt and German Sex Slaves

A 40-year old woman didn’t know the slogan on her t-shirt had a sexual innuendo until a professor from her tourism group told her wrongly. He also managed to persuade her to change it.

The T-shirt -  “I like being on top.”

He told her the message meant “she wanted sex.”

Nope…prof…sorry…doesn’t mean that.

A preference in a position, maybe …

The woman was ashamed, but then figured the shirt’s meaning

might have had something to do with why people smiled weirdly and whistled at her.

I had a student, high school, in Japan won who wore a t-shirt that had something to the effect of

I was German sex slave

written on it.

She didn’t have a clue what it meant. I made her go to somewhere private and turn it inside out.

Nike Inc said the company would give a refund to the woman from Beijing who bought the Nike T-shirt in Europe.

Nike also said the t-shirt was sold worldwide but no one esle had complained.

Why do you think Nike uses such slogans to sell shirts?

Why not be far away from sexual connotations?
