Honda Motor Co. announced that it will recall 63,000 Civics and Civic Hybrids and Streams in Japan for faulty brake switches and speedometers.

22,881 Civic and Civic Hybrids produced from 9/05 – 12/06.

40,218 Streams manufactured from 7/06-1/07.

The problems were reported to the Transport Ministry.

The brake problem was caused by excessive amounts of lubricating oil and thehonda.stream.jpg speedometer problem was caused by a programming erro.

Some 20,000 Civic and Civic Hybrids were also recalled in the United States and Australia for the same problems.

Is Honda losing its quality? Or is this just a fluke?
