There is an 800-year old shrine in old Japan – Kyoto, that gets about 40,000 visitors a year, mostly women, who come to ask for help to break up their marriages.

A local priest at the Yasui Shrine says that special prayers offering consolation to visitors facing a domestic breakup go for about 6,000 yen ($50).

Not only do the girls, (70% of the visitors) come, but also parents will come to pray their children OUT of a bad relationship.

The divorce rate in Japan has doubled since 1960. With baby boomers retiring, the rate is expected to rise.
