5 Ways the Internet Has Helped Popularize the Kimono

I don’t know why the kimono needs help from the Internet to be popular. I think Japanese girls look beautiful in their kimono.

Kimono, by the way, is one of the few Japanese words that have become mainstream words in other languages…sumo, tsunami, sushi, typhoon (from taifu) are some others.

Web sites are popping up to give the kimono a hand in becoming popular once again.

How…

1. Men can learn how to treat their dates when they wear a kimono…don’t touch, it might come undone. sit often because the sandals hurt her feet.

2. Women can learn how to fit a kimono, and care for them – remove stains, store them…online.

3. Learning how to wear them…the Japanese actually have “how to put on a kimono school.”

4. “Internet support groups and online sales of less-expensive and vintage kimono are keeping sales from falling.”

5. Coming of age ceremonies, weddings will never go away….and as Japanese women age, they want to wear a kimono again. Web sites are ready to sell.

What do you think of Japanese girls in kimonos?
