Toyota Motor Corp.'s 2008 Prius gasoline-electric car is priced 5.5% less than the 2007 model.

Hybrid sales in the United States rose 60% to 187,533 vehicles in the first half of this year. Just over half of those were Toyota's Prius.

Toyota's Camry hybrid will also be $1,000 cheaper this year.

Meanwhile, GM, Ford and DaimlerChrysler….
