USS New York sets sail
The USS New York, which has been partly created from steel recovered from the wreckage of the World Trade Center, has set sail from New Orleans, on the journey to New York City for its commissioning ceremony.

The USS New York was named as a mark of respect of the dead of 9/11.
The USS New York is a Marine transport ship with a crew of three hundred plus, capable of transporting up to eight hundred Marines.
