Trick or Treat Times

Trick-or-treating is the tradition of going from one door to another asking for treats and has its origin in the Christian practice of “souling.”

November 1st is celebrated as All Saints Day which commemorates saints who are in heaven and have been honored by people.

On the other hand, November 2nd is celebrated as All Souls Day. On this day Catholics pray for the souls of those have died but are not sure if they will go to heaven.

This Saturday – 31st of October, 2009 – is celebrated as Halloween and is also the last day of the year on the ancient Celtic calendar. On Halloween day, people dress up in costumes and go trick – o – treating, as well as carve pumpkins and watch scary movies.
