Tonga earthquake triggers big tsunami threatening places Tonga, Fiji and Samoa
A 7.9- big magnitude earthquake that had struck near the Tonga islands region on Friday triggered a tsunami threatening places like Tonga, Fiji and Samoa.
The earthquake hit about at 6.17 am and was centred 130 miles south the Tongan region.
Earlier a tsunami warning was issued by the existing Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre for Tonga.
No reports of injuries or damage so far.
