The US To Impose New Sanctions Over North Korea

The US administration has decided that there would be a new set of sanctions that would be imposed on North Korea, following the S.Korean ship sinking incident.

One of the main motives behind the sanction would be targeting the purchase and sales of arms from the country, which would help prevent any Nuclear proliferation.

China on the other hand has stated that it is worried about the joint naval exercises between S. Korea and US, saying this would only increase tension in the area.

Mrs Clinton, stated in a meeting in Seoul, that these sanctions would help against N.Korea’s proliferation in arms development and also any illicit activity with that would be funding their weapons program.

She told BBC that, these sanctions are not against the N. Korean citizens, but rather against their misguided government. She also stated that N.Korea should take the initiative of taking responsibility and move towards denuclearisation.
