New York State unemployment benefits
Governor Paterson declared today that New York State – under the national Reemployment and Eligibility Assessment (REA) initiative of the US Department of Labor – will be given approximately $4.5 million in federal grant funds for 2009.

The REA initiative is planned on assisting people who benefit from unemployment insurance to get back to work sooner by giving them with individualized job search and training services.
The money will come from the federal funds that sustain the administration of unemployment insurance.
