The worlds largest rocket is ready for a test flight and is considered to be the vehicle that may be used to bring back astronauts to the moon. This “test launch” is part of four test launches of Ares I-X that will go on until 2012.

NASA said that the 327-foot rocket named the Ares I-X, will be launched at 8 a.m. ET from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The rocket is unmanned and will assist NASA in gathering valuable information for future missions.

There are high hopes that this rocket will in due time become a replacement to space shuttles and will manage voyages to the moon and Mars.

Sources say that the launch comes at a very crucial time in the USA – a time when NASA is waiting for President Obama to make a decision on the future funding for the agency.

The launch of Ares I-X is scheduled for early Tuesday but reports suggest that the weather could be a dampener – since the agency said it had a 40 percent chance at launch because of bad weather.
