Montana Democrat Max Baucus had recommended Melodee Hanes earlier this year to become the next U.S. attorney for Montana even while being romantically linked to her – and that was enough to create a controversy.

Records state that the couple knew each other for quite a long time since they started working together from 2003. Melodee Hanes has so far gone ahead and cancelled her name from the list of nominees for the US Attorney so that she does not get embroiled into anything more.
