Sony Vaio? Nope.

NEC? Nope.

I guess I was a bit surprised at who was on top of the list of best selling laptops/notebooks in Japan and who else was in the list.

Acer of Taiwan was tops. Found by a majority of online searches (42% searched online for a mini notebook PC says iShare).

What made Acer most attractive -

1. price – 70%

2. design – 35%

3. battery duration – 26%

4. weight – 15%

What Japanese seek most in a mini notebook -

1. weight (or less of it)  – 81%

2. long operating time – 74%

3. durability – 48%

4. including MS office – 35%

Excuse me while I go check out the Acer mini notebook.

The title is absolutely misleading. The ranking is not based on laptops sold but a poll who is most attractive. And the poll is not about laptops but mini laptops.
