Q: Why did the blonde girl get fired from being an elevator girl?

A: She kept getting lost driving to the next floor.

Q: Why did the blonde girl get stuck on the escalator for three hours?

A: Because she had to wait for the electricity to come back on.

Q:Why do Japanese companies insist on paying young ladies to tell customers how to ride the esclators?

A: Who knows?

Odakyu Department store in Shinjuku has revived Escalator Girls (sounds like it could be an action hero, but…) to help with the store’s renewal opening ceremony.

The girls will be bowing and scraping all the while reminding customers to be careful on the moving staircase.

Seriously, my wife wants to know why I do NOT want to go shopping.

Oh…the escalator...invented in 1892. Soon to be 216 116 (I really can do simple math.) years old. Surely, some Japanese department store will have a celebration.

LOL, and still – even if I had someone helping me – I feel a little nervous each time I get ready to step on an escalator! :P
